Pastor Donette Douglas, CTN WTJR Ministry Coordinator and Board Member of Addiction Free in Christ:
Donette Douglas lives in Quincy, IL. where she is the WTJR-TV16 Ministry Coordinator since April 2nd, 2024 and previously the General Manager for WTJR-TV16 for the past eighteen years. She started ministering on TV at Christ Vision in Keokuk, IA. twenty-five years ago, where God started to teach her about TV Broadcasting; from there God moved her on to WTJR in Quincy, IL.
At the age of nineteen, God put a “song” in Donette’s heart that she loves to share with others. She was born and raised in a Christian home; showered with God’s love and the love of praying parents. Donette says that going to Grandma’s house after church for Sunday dinner was an important part of her family’s “Precious Memories” but singing those inspiring church hymns about “The Old Rugged Cross” is why “I Love to Tell the Story” About my “Blessed Redeemer”. As I take “One Day at A Time”, “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow” for “I’m Sheltered in The Arms of God”. Donette has traveled since giving her heart to Jesus as a music evangelist, prayer warrior and speaker; even told that she “preaches” sometimes!
Donette is the mother of five children and has three grandsons and four granddaughters. She is host of a weekly half-hour program on CTN WTJR-TV16 in Quincy, IL. called “A Woman’s JOY”; now in its twenty-second year of production. Also, on August 19th, 2023 she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from Life Christian University; looking forward to working on her Master’s Degree in the fall of 2023.
Through song and the Holy Word of God, Donette is honored to give testimony of the Good News of Jesus Christ to all she meets! ~ Giving God All the Glory!

Pastor Mike McKenzie's Biography, Former Board Member who went to be with the Lord on December 1st, 2023:
THE BUSINESS OF GOD’S MERCY AND GRACE
“That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” (Ephesians 4:21-23)
My family moved to St. Louis in 1987 at the invitation of a pastor friend who wanted me to help him with the church. From 1982 until 2010 I was a bi-vocational pastor. We had been in St. Louis for just a few months, when I began to be aware of a ministry called New Life Evangelistic Center, located in downtown of the city. My heart was stirred because I love to do street ministry, In the early 1970’s I pastored a church about an hours drive to Kansas City. There was a Teen Challenge Center on Troost street and the Executive Director there was a friend of mine. A couple of times a month I would go to the men’s Center on Friday afternoon and stay until late early Sunday about 5 in the morning then get up a few hours later to be at Church. Several times during the four years I was involved with Teen Challenge, I helped sit all weekend with cocaine and heroin addicts as they went through agonizing withdrawal. My heart broke for each one of them. I helped them clean-up. I became involved with New Life by going out on the streets of downtown St. Louis, always with another person, to locate the homeless and the helpless, and try to help them. My eyes were opened wide to the tragic circumstances of people who had come to feel there was no hope for them. I served on the board of New Life for five years, and then I was asked to become the Senior Chaplain for a wonderful ministry called Missiongate. This ministry was directed at ex-offenders and their families. There were homes for families, and homes for men and homes for women, all former prison inmates. The ministry owned a former YMCA right in north St. Louis city, in an area reputed to be the most dangerous in America. There were more killings in this area each year than anywhere in the country, including Chicago. I don’t have enough space to tell you of the unique experiences I had during this time. My office was in this former YMCA, and one New Year’s Eve as I was walking to my car, someone shot at me three times, two shots hitting the sidewalk in front of me, and one shot hitting the passenger side of the car. My heart was in my throat as I managed to drive away. In the ensuing years, I have had many experiences with folks caught up in drugs and criminal activity. I have been on the Board of Directors of Addiction Free in Christ since its beginning and have worked with Julie and Jerry Jenkins for over 12 years. They are busier now with addicted persons than they have ever been. I encourage you to give your personal support to this very timely ministry. Ask for support for an outreach to kids or needy mothers, and you get it. That’s not true for ministry to addicted people. This work is helping families, now all over the world. Help us, will you? The Lord is coming, and the day of grace is quickly coming to an end. Let us redeem the time while we can!
